Horizon Turns 34 Years Old !!!!!
The Horizon Education Centers was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in Ohio on September 18, 1978. Pictured above is Mary Smith, Founder of Horizon at the North Olmsted Homecoming Fair in August of 1978, between original and current logo. Horizon was originally named the Horizon Afterschool Center, the name changed later in 1984 to the Horizon Activities Center when early childhood programs were added. The Horizon Board of Trustees authorized our last name change to Horizon Education Centers in February of 2012 to more accurately describe the organization's programming.
