In addition to providing high-quality education for more than 40 years, Horizon Education Centers also offers before and after-school care.   

Our Elyria- Dewhurst Center boasts a five-star rating from the State of Ohio's "Step Up To Quality" Program.  In fact, each of our centers is highly rated.

Whether you're looking for child care, preschool programs, or summer camp, Horizon offers enrichment programs for children 18 months to 12 years old. 

Our programs focus on language and literacy, social, emotional, and physical development.

Horizon staff members guide their students with state standards, assessments, and individual learning plans. We focus on kindergarten readiness and school-age enrichment.   

Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ABOUT Ashley has been in the early childhood education field for 13 years. Her favorite thing about this profession is building positive and trusted relationships with students and families. She looks forward to providing excellent customer service skills to all Horizon families.

EDUCATION Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lorain County Community College

ABOUT Ms. Brook has always had a loved for children. She babysat when she was younger and enjoyed taking care of children. She has also taken extra classes to earn her Afterschool Program Certificate.

Melissa Kahl Lead Toddler Teacher

EDUCATION Associate degree in art from Cuyahoga Community College

ABOUT Ms. Melissa has taught toddlers for the last three years and she enjoys watching them grow and learn new things. Teaching is one of her passions, along with reading and spending time with friends and family.

Olivia Pfeifer Lead School Age Teacher

EDUCATION Associate degree in education from Lorain County Community College, pursuing bachelor's degree in early childhood education
