Horizon Education Center's Cascade and Market Square locations recently hosted our "Lights On After School" event. We invited families and community members to the center to see some of the different activities and programs the kids participate in while they’re in our care.

During the Market Square event, the kids learned about parts of a pumpkin, then cut it open to take seeds out. They counted the seeds and compared if larger pumpkins had more seeds than smaller pumpkins. Later in the week, they will bake the seeds and use the pulp to make slime.

And at Cascade, students and parents were asked to highlight what they love about our afterschool program while participating in different, student-selected activities. We held a chess tournament, solved giant word searches, painted faces, and decorated milk jug lanterns.

Horizon Education Centers provides child care and afterschool programs in Cuyahoga County and Lorain County, Ohio.

And we'd like to send a special thank you to our special guest, Mr. Belmont from Elyria Constellation School, who read to our preschool classes and talked to parents about the importance of after-school programming. You can see some images from the event below.
