What to Bring to Day Camp

For parents new to day camp, remember to mark everything your child brings to camp with his name. Placing camp supplies and personal items in a small backpack will help your child keep everything together and make it easier for him to find what he needs while he’s at camp. Here’s our list of the top 10 things to bring to day camp:

1. Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty.

2. Wear athletic shoes or sandals (closed toe preferred to protect your child's feet while he's playing). Wear one pair of shoes and bring the other in case a change of shoes is necessary.

3. Pack a change of clothes, including underwear and socks, in case clothes get wet or dirty.

4. On water play or pool days, bring a towel, bathing suit and sandals. You may also want to add goggles if swimming is planned.

5. Light jacket or sweatshirt for chilly mornings.

6. Bring a raincoat or umbrella on rainy days.

7. Broad-spectrum sunscreen, SPF 30.

8. Sun hat or baseball cap.

9. Easy to hold water bottle with a sip spout.

10. Plastic bags for wet or dirty clothes.

Horizon Education summer day camps are conveniently located throughout Lorain County. We are no longer accepting registrations for this year's summer camp. However, you can watch summer camp videos here and be sure to sign-up your child for summer camp 2015 next spring!
