ABOUT Ms. Kamenos has been employed with Horizon for the last four years as an Executive Assistant to David Smith. She has known the Smith family for about twelve years. She was a Cub and Boy Scout Leader with Dave Smith for several years. Ms. Kamenos currently lives in North Olmsted with her three beautiful children. She spends most of her time on the sidelines cheering on her children at their sporting events. Ms. Kamenos also assists Mr. Smith with the non-profit advocacy group, The Ohio Association of Child Care Providers; where Mr. Smith is President. She loves the challenges of her position at Horizon.

About Jennifer Butler originally started with Horizon in 2005 at the newly established East Lorain Center as a receptionist. In 2006 Jennifer moved to Horizon Finance Department as the AP Coordinator and currently is the Deputy Finance Director. In this position, she handles all billing for private pay and ODJFS families, trains Horizon Center Business Coordinators, bad debt collections, workers’ compensation claim cases and assists the Finance Director. Outside of work Jennifer enjoys reading, crafting and spending time with her family.
About Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Ashley Fiefhaus moved to Cleveland, OH and has obtained the position of Finance Coordinator in the Administration Office of Horizon Education Centers. Ashley has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY, and holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Morehead State University in Morehead, KY.

About Janine started her career in the retail industry. Working in all aspects of the business , and directing programs related to Shortage Reduction and Risk management throughout North Eastern and Central Ohio. Joining the Horizon Administration team in January 2018, Janine took on the role of Business Manager. Handling project management, Safety and Security, Purchasing , Food Services, Maintenance and Transportation departments, she is utilizing her experience to guide and manage these Operational categories for all centers.

About Ms. Lisa has been with Horizon Education Centers for seven years. She enjoys building relationships with her students and their families. About Before working for Horizon, Mrs. Marflake managed a tennis club for 12 years. She realized she wanted a more meaningful career. Mrs. Marflake feels that her job at Horizon Education Centers chose her instead of her choosing it. September 2017 will mark her five-year anniversary with Horizon! As a Center Director, Mrs. Marflake feels happy and fulfilled working with the children/families and managing her center. Mrs. Marflake lives with her husband and three children in their new home located in Elyria, Ohio. Their family also includes one dog and one cat. When she is not busy with college courses or work she enjoys spending time with her family. She is an avid reader and finds that reading relaxes her.

About Originally from Southern Indiana, Nicole Hall moved to Cleveland in 2013 where she finished her Bachelor of Education in Exercise Science from Cleveland State University. Upon graduation, Nicole enrolled in Nova Southeastern University where she completed a Master of Science in Developmental Disabilities with concentrations in early childhood and leadership and advocacy. About Nicolle started off her career working with adults with developmental disabilities before moving on to run a homeless shelter in Lorain, County. While working at the shelter Nicolle realized she wanted to make more of an impact with children in order to make a real difference in the community. Nicolle came to Horizon in October 2011 to start the Ready Set Go…to Kindergarten community collaborative. Along the way she took on more projects including teaching cpr/first, Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention and Yoga 4 Classrooms; developing and running Horizon’s AmeriCorps program; and supervising the staff of the Striving Readers grant and Southside Pride Collaborative. Nicolle is an active member of the Lorain County’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library committee and the Elyria Rotary. She couldn’t do any of this without the support of her husband and two girls. In her spare time Nicolle loves to read and plan Christmas activities!
About Alexia graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in Urban Studies and Organizational Leadership and minors in Nonprofit Management and Management and Labor Relations. She was President of her sorority in college and is an Alumna of Alpha Sigma Alpha. She is currently attending Cleveland State University Graduate School for Master in Public Administration. During her free time she enjoys cooking, working out and spending time with family and friends.

About From Northeast Ohio, Amanda started her career in customer service positions after realizing that her real passion was in education. In 2016 she became a substitute teacher for a few different school districts while pursuing her Master’s in Education. In 2017, she found herself in a permanent substitute position at Lorain High School in their culinary program through their career tech department before transitioning into Horizon after the summer. Her hopes are that with Horizon, she can continue with her passion for education and create a home where she can share her enthusiasm for learning with the children, parents and staff. About As Mrs. Chavalla was contemplating a career she found herself taking a career assessment test to direct her in the appropriate direction. The career assessment test revealed she would do well working with children. Ms. Chavalla feels that she is making a difference in the children’s lives and encourages them to learn with everyday activities.

About Mrs. Dunlap enjoys working with children and encourages them to grow and learn. She lives with her husband and two children. About Ms. Moore’s inspiration to work with children came from taking care of her younger brother. She enjoyed teaching him and molding him into the young man he is today. About During my time at Ohio Business College I was a Student Tutor/Learning Center Aid for half my time attending. In the midst of High School and throughout higher education I was one of three board members of the Young Motivation Youth Club for Kindergarten to High schoolers for four years based in Lorain, Ohio. I began my work with Horizon at the South Elyria location in Wilkes Villa, later worked at Horizon’s North Olmsted location and finally transitioned to my current position, Southside Pride Collaborative Program Coordinator. This position has given me the chance to further my dreams of giving back to our youth. It is my honor to be able to give back to not only the same city that I grew up in, but to the same exact neighborhood of Wilkes Villa that I lived in for three years. ABOUT Shana Hutton is a lead S.A.C teacher at the North Olmsted location. She works with students that are in kindergarten through second grade. She currently attends Cleveland State University, and is working toward her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked for Horizon for a total of 4 years, and have worked in a variety of position. Shana taught preschool as an assistant teacher, was a classroom/building aide, and is currently a lead S.A.C teacher. She's bubbly, spunky, and just as colorful as her classroom. Shana has a passion for the education field, and wants to pass her love for learning on to the students in the classroom. She believes that all children are capable of learning, and that the classroom should be a safe, fun, and engaging place.

Ms.Wisniewski believes that Horizon Education Center’s heart is in the right place. The organization offers a wide-range of educationally enriched programs for students and their families. When Mrs. Stephanie heard of an opening at Head Start, she applied there and got the position as a lead. Mrs. Stephanie also works a lead councilor for Horizon’s Summer Camp program. She is an inspiring teacher. She enjoys the variety and the fact that there is never a dull moment at the Center. About Freelance artist whose work has been shown in galleries and previously won numerous competitions. Currently, a freelance artist who specializes in portraits and murals, also about to illustrate my first children's book. I have two children, preschooler, and an infant. On weekends we explore different places in Ohio such as the aquarium, zoo, cliffs, caves, and waterfalls. I am Very active with my children, and truly believe children learn by playing and exploring and through play, children have a chance to practice what they learned.

ABOUT Saundra has been working for Horizon Education Centers since 2015. She previously worked as Supervisor in Nuclear Medicine for 15 years and made the change to education because of her love of teaching children and science. Saundra has 2 boys, Nathan and Deacon. ABOUT Dawon has been with Horizon for 3 years, he started as program staff and moved up to Interim 21st CCLC Site Coordinator, and now serves as our SAC Lead. Dawon has a background in Fine Arts, which he perform in two productions for Cleveland Public Theater which he loved and hopes to continue an acting career. Dawon has been working with children most of his life. ABOUT Brianna has been with Horizon for 3 years, starting as a summer food service employee at the North Olmsted site. She has since progressed to lead of the SAC Studio classroom, working with Old Brooklyn’s 2nd and 3rd grade students, and even served as SAC Lead for a span of several months. Brianna has a love for English and literature and hopes to teach 7th grade ELA sometime in the near future. About Ms. Breana started her career with Horizon Education Centers after seeing the love and dedication that her mother had working at Horizon. Her mother inspired her to continue her education to become a teacher. Ms. Breana is enrolled in the Learn to Earn Program with Horizon Education Centers. During her free time, she enjoys sporting events, concerts and loves to vacation when she is able.

About When Mrs. King was in High School she enrolled in an Early Childhood program which inspired her to become a Teacher. The children at the center keep her on her toes. She enjoys watching her kids thrive and succeed at everything they do. Mrs. King lives with her husband and three children. They enjoy visits to Cedar Point and outdoor activities together.

About Ms. Teria, started her career with Horizon right out of college. She has worn many hats for Horizon, Preschool Teacher, School Age Coordinator, Program Specialist in the Administration Building, Education Service Coordinator and finally Center Director. During her free time, Ms. Teria sings and volunteers at her church where her father is the pastor. She lives with her daughter and enjoys spending time with her daughter and her family every chance she gets.

About When Ms. Frances first started working for Horizon she realized very quickly that this job was the right fit for her! She is great with kids and can relate to them. She’s tried working at other jobs but working with children is what interested her the most. She enjoys teaching, watching them learn and satisfying their curiosity. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Over the summer months, she enjoys taking her brother and sister to Kalahari and the African Safari Wildlife Park in Sandusky. She loves to travel and spend quality time with family and friends.

About Ms. Sonja had completed classes through the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services before being hired with Horizon. She received her Certification in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Sonja has always worked with children so this career was a good fit for her. She has worked with Horizon for 12 years! She has developed a meaningful relationship with the children and families at the center. Ms. Sonja lives with her daughter who also works for the company. During her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home with her family and watching the latest films.

About Mrs. Johnston is currently enrolled in Horizon's Learn to Earn Progam where she is attending college to become a teacher. She originally took some training through Lorain County’s joint vocational program in Child Care. Mrs. Johnston chose this profession because she enjoys teaching children and giving them the proper tools to guide them in life. During her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband of 28 years and her four children. She also volunteers at a homeless shelter in the community and does charity work.

About After having children, Ms. Napier decided that she wanted a career that involved children. She found the perfect position and started teaching in a Head Start Program. She has been teaching for sixteen years. She lives with her family and enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.

About Ms. Auradel is originally from New York. She moved to Ohio to be with her family. When she moved to Ohio she babysat a lot and that in turn inspired her to work with children. Later, she was offered a position with Horizon and was happy to take the job. She enjoys spending time with her children and niece, during her free time. She also operates a home-based business which keeps her busy.

About Mrs. Reuter has been working with Horizon Education Centers for the last thirty years! Mrs. Reuter lives with her family and is very active with her six grandchildren. Her husband also works for Horizon. She loves sports and outdoor activities.

About Deana has 30 + years of child care experience. She has been employed by Horizon for 20 great years. Deana has had the honor of working with students from preschool through 8th grade. Her personal passion has always been to show love and compassion to children and encourage them to be their best in spite of the circumstances they may face. She believes education and respect for themselves and others will produce positive outcomes and open doors that can lead to a successful future.
