Child Care Center

Horizon Education Centers has provided high quality care and education for over 40 years.  Whether you're looking for child care, preschool programs, before - or after-school programs, or summer camp, Horizon offers these enrichment programs for children 18 months to 12 years of age.  Our programs focus on language and literacy, social,  emotional, and physical and development. Horizon guides children with state standards, assessments and individual learning plans, and we focus on kindergarten readiness and school age enrichment.  Each of our centers is highly rated by the State of Ohio Step Up to Quality Rating. This location is a Universal Pre-Kindergarten site funded by Invest in Children.

Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

ABOUT Hana Mohammad has been with Horizon for five years. She is working towards earning her teaching licenses in grades 7-12 Language Arts. Hana has always enjoyed working with children and creating a great rapport with the students, families and staff.

ABOUT BreAnn has worked with Horizon for more than two years. She has always known that she would work with children in one way or another because being around and interacting with kids comes second nature to her.  BreAnn takes pride in her work and in her center.

Dawon Taylor School Age Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Diploma in Human Resources, Social Work from Alison Business School

ABOUT Mr. Dawon has been with Horizon for three years. He has a background in fine arts, which he used to perform in two productions for Cleveland Public Theatre. Dawon loves creating new projects with his students and planning family engagement nights.

Amy Anaky Preschool Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in arts and sciences from Cleveland State University and coursework in Special Education at Notre Dame College of Ohio.

ABOUT Ms. Amy has 15 years of experience in early childhood education. She has always known that working with children is the career she wanted to follow. Building relationships with families and children is something she enjoys and she finds that watching the children learn and grow to be very rewarding.

Gwendolyn Young Lead School Age Teacher

EDUCATION Pursuing associate degree in liberal arts 

ABOUT Ms. Gwendolyn has known since childhood that she wanted her career to involve helping or teaching children. Gwen enjoys making new lessons and finding what each child needs help with individually. 

Larissa Rudd Lead School Age Teacher

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in English Literature and East Asian Studies from John Carroll University

ABOUT Ms. Larissa's desire to teach and help the youth in her community led her to her position with Horizon. She recently graduated and is looking forward to growing in her new role as a school-age lead teacher. She is excited about the opportunity to share her love of other cultures and reading with her students.

Michelle Shepard Lead School Age Teacher

EDUCATION Child development associate (CDA) accreditation, pursuing a bachelor's degree in early child education 

ABOUT Ms. Michelle's desire to teach and shape young minds has led her to work in childcare for over 30 years. She just moved to the Cleveland area and is excited to see where Horizon takes her.
