Child Care Center

Horizon Education Centers has provided high quality care and education for over 40 years.  Whether you're looking for child care, preschool programs, before - or after-school programs, or summer camp, Horizon offers these enrichment programs for children 18 months to 12 years of age.  Our programs focus on language and literacy, social,  emotional, and physical and development. Horizon guides children with state standards, assessments and individual learning plans, and we focus on kindergarten readiness and school age enrichment.  Each of our centers is highly rated by the State of Ohio Step Up to Quality Rating.

Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Hana Mohammad

Center Director, Old Brooklyn

EDUCATION Bachelor Degrees in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences from Cleveland State University and an Associate Degree in Science from Cuyahoga Community College

ABOUT Hana Mohammad has been with Horizon for five years. She is working towards earning her teaching licenses in grades 7-12 Language Arts. Hana has always enjoyed working with children and creating a great rapport with the students, families and staff.

ABOUT BreAnn has worked with Horizon for more than two years. She has always known that she would work with children in one way or another because being around and interacting with kids comes second nature to her.  BreAnn takes pride in her work and in her center.

Dawon Taylor School Age Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Diploma in Human Resources, Social Work from Alison Business School

ABOUT Mr. Dawon has been with Horizon for three years. He has a background in fine arts, which he used to perform in two productions for Cleveland Public Theatre. Dawon loves creating new projects with his students and planning family engagement nights.

Bonita Allison Lead Toddler Teacher

EDUCATION CDA license in Early Childhood Education

ABOUT Ms. Bonita has worked at Horizon for three years. She hopes to continue her education in business and early childhood education. Bonita loves engaging with children and families and continues to build positive relationships.

Carly Torcaso SAC Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Cleveland State University, licensed social worker

ABOUT Ms. Carly is a social worker who has worked with children through many avenues. She enjoys watching her students grow and become interested in learning. 

Shelby Rae Kelbly School Age Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Associate of Science in Education from Stark State College

ABOUT Ms. Shelby has worked in child care for three years and enjoys planning creative activities for students to work on as a team. She is continuing her education by pursuing a bachelor's degree in early childhood education at Cleveland State University. She plans on being a first-grade teacher after she graduates.

Kylie Demkowicz School Age Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University

ABOUT Ms. Kylie has worked with Horizon for three years. Her immersion in fine arts allows her to bring passionate creativity to her lessons and to her classroom, where she knows her students are confident in expressing themselves.
