Horizon Education Centers has provided high quality care and education for over 40 years.  Whether you're looking for child care, preschool programs, before - or after-school programs, or summer camp, Horizon offers these enrichment programs for children 18 months to 12 years of age.  Our programs focus on language and literacy, social,  emotional, and physical and development. Horizon guides children with state standards, assessments and individual learning plans, and we focus on kindergarten readiness and school age enrichment.  Each of our centers is highly rated by the State of Ohio Step Up to Quality Rating.

ABOUT April Palmer started her career with Horizon as a site coordinator at North Ridgeville Middle School in 2010. She also works part time as a community mental health specialist with the teenage population.

ABOUT Fatma Hamdan has been with Horizon for over three years now. She loves working for a family-oriented company and enjoys helping kids and their families.

ABOUT Ms. Marietta has worked at Horizon for the past three years. She enjoys teaching children and is the lead teacher of the Lego Club. She loves it when children create art with Legos while using their imaginations.

Kathleen Williams Lead Preschool Teacher since 2013

EDUCATION Associate Degree in Applied Science and Early Childhood Education from Cuyahoga Community College

ABOUT Ms. Kathleen is from a big family and grew up around a lot of children. That inspired her to become a teacher. She enjoys working on creative projects and watching her student’s imaginations come to life.

ABOUT Ms. Andrea has worked at Horizon for six years. She loves working with children and watching them grow each day.

Megan Armbruster Lead Preschool Teacher

EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University

ABOUT Ms. Megan is the lead teacher in the Green and Purple Preschool rooms. She has worked at Horizon since August 2016. Megan loves reading and being outdoors, and she loves seeing children explore and learn through their curiosity.

Gina Kafantaris Preschool Lead Assistant

EDUCATION Associate of Arts Degree from Cuyahoga Community College

ABOUT Ms. Gina Kafantaris will take over Ms. Andrea’s position as the new lead assistant in the Red Room. She has worked at Horizon since October 2018, but has worked in child care for over seven years. Gina has an everlasting passion for working with children of all ages, and she is excited to take on this new position.

Carmen Scruggs Lead Preschool Teacher

EDUCATION Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Cuyahoga Community College & Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Rasmussen College

ABOUT Ms. Carmen has been at Horizon since 2015 and has had a major impact on the children in her preschool Red and Orange rooms at Horizon. She is very enthusiastic and super creative. She finds unique ways to relate to each individual child and loves to teach and impart wisdom.

Cassidy Salmons Lead Toddler Teacher

EDUCATION Currently enrolled to earn Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University

ABOUT Ms. Cassidy has worked at Horizon since 2007. She is currently the lead toddler teacher in the Yellow Room. Cassidy loves arts and crafts engages with each child individually. She loves meeting new people.

ABOUT Ms. Sara is enrolled at Lorain County Community College earn her associate degree in early childhood education. She has always loved being around children because they have such crazy minds and they say funny things.

Tammy Kasnyik Toddler Teacher Assistant

EDUCATION 10 years experience in child care field

ABOUT Ms. Tammy has worked at Horizon for two years, but has 28 years of early childhood education experience. Prior to teaching toddlers, she taught preschool for six years.

Gloria Rodriguez Lead Toddler Teacher

EDUCATION Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Polk College

ABOUT Ms. Gloria has worked with Horizon for the last two years. She is a rational, altruistic, free-spirited person who looks forward to growing with the company. Gloria has worked with children of all ages since she was a teenager, and at one point was a nanny for over a decade to many families.
