It’s the original Horizon Education Center building. The place where it all began on Lorain Road in North Olmsted. 

Offering enrichment programs for children 6 weeks to 12 years old, its features include:

  • Four-Star Rating from the State of Ohio's "Step Up To Quality" Program 
  • Preschool Scholarships
  • Gym
  • Infant Care
  • Toddler Care

The school-aged programs at our 13 Centers provide transportation for students before and after school to help working parents.

Horizon Education Centers has 13 child care facilities throughout Northeast Ohio, like this one in North Olmsted.

We've been offering highly-rated, high-quality educational experiences for more than 40 years, including:

Our teachers develop language and literacy, as well as social, emotional, and physical skills.  Our staff members guide their students with various teaching methods based on recommendations from the State of Ohio, including:

  • Individual Learning Plans

Horizon Education Centers focuses on kindergarten readiness and school-age enrichment, and we're a part of the Ohio Healthy Programs, ensuring that your children have healthy food options daily.

EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Education with a major in Spanish from Bowling Green State University

ABOUT Alicia has 20 years of experience in early childhood education, 14 years as a preschool teacher and six years as the preschool supervisor at the Family Life Child Care Center. She believes early childhood education is the foundation for every child and she enjoys watching children develop and grow both academically and socially/emotionally.

Afterschool Site Coordinator, North Olmsted
EDUCATION: Associate of Science in General Studies from Cuyahoga Community College and Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Physiology from Baldwin Wallace University, currently attending Ashland University.
ABOUT: I have been working in Early Childhood Education since 2015. I have experience working with children from newborn to 17 years old. I enjoy learning as much from the children as they learn from me.

Carmen Scruggs

Business Coordinator, North Olmsted

EDUCATION Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Leadership from Rasmussen University. Graduate student at Grand Canyon University studying Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education.

ABOUT Carmen has been a member of the Horizon team for over 18 years, mostly working with preschool children. She has two children -- both Horizon products! -- aged 20 and 14.

Megan Armbruster Lead Preschool Teacher

EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University

ABOUT Ms. Megan is the lead teacher in the Green and Blue Preschool rooms. She has worked at Horizon since August 2016. Megan loves reading and being outdoors, and she loves seeing children explore and learn through their curiosity.
