North Olmsted Center

The original Horizon Education Center off Lorain Road on David Drive in North Olmsted offers year-round programming for children aged 6 weeks to 14 years of age and a safe supportive environment for children. It has earned the highest quality Gold Rating from the State of Ohio's "Step Up to Quality Program." It offers transportation for school-age children to and from local schools.

It provides preschool scholarships, gym access, and dedicated infant and toddler care, marking the foundation of our educational journey.

Our North Olmsted Child Care Center hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Program Highlights

Our teachers develop language and literacy, as well as social, emotional and physical skills. Our staff members guide their students with various teaching methods based on recommendations from the State of Ohio, including:

  • Individual Learning Plans

Horizon Education Centers focuses on kindergarten readiness and school-age enrichment, and we're a part of the Ohio Healthy Programs, ensuring that your children have healthy food options daily.

Each of our centers has a toddler playground area, preschool playground area and school-age playground area.

Horizon is proud to employ highly experienced staff and teachers that help create a warm and inviting environment for your children.

Alicia Gresko

Center Director

EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Education with a major in Spanish from Bowling Green State University and Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

ABOUT Alicia has 20 years of experience in early childhood education, 14 years as a preschool teacher and six years as the preschool supervisor at the Family Life Child Care Center. She believes early childhood education is the foundation for every child and she enjoys watching children develop and grow both academically and socially/emotionally.

Carmen Scruggs

Business Coordinator

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Leadership from Rasmussen University and Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education from Grand Canyon University.

ABOUT: Carmen has been a member of the Horizon team for over 18 years, mostly working with preschool children. She has two children -- both Horizon products! -- aged 20 and 14.

Allyson Spay

Site Coordinator
EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Liberal Arts at Southern New Hampshire University. Continuing education at Grand Canyon University for a Bachelor of Science in Education Studies. 
 
ABOUT: I have worked with Horizon for 3 years now and love to teach children, plan fun activities, and field trips for them! I have a 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. We love to spend time as a family outdoors.

Megan Armbruster

Lead Preschool Teacher

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University

ABOUT: Ms. Megan is the lead teacher in the Green and Blue Preschool rooms. She has worked at Horizon since August 2016. Megan loves reading and being outdoors, and she loves seeing children explore and learn through their curiosity.
