North Olmsted Center

The original Horizon Education Center on Lorain Road in North Olmsted caters to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, offering enrichment programs with a Five-Star Rating from Ohio's "Step Up To Quality" Program. It provides preschool scholarships, gym access, and dedicated infant and toddler care, marking the foundation of our educational journey.

Our North Olmsted Child Care Center hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Program Highlights

Our teachers develop language and literacy, as well as social, emotional and physical skills. Our staff members guide their students with various teaching methods based on recommendations from the State of Ohio, including:

  • State Assessments
  • Individual Learning Plans

Horizon Education Centers focuses on kindergarten readiness and school-age enrichment, and we're a part of the Ohio Healthy Programs, ensuring that your children have healthy food options daily.

Each of our centers has a toddler playground area, preschool playground area and school-age playground area.

Alicia Gresko

Center Director

EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Education with a major in Spanish from Bowling Green State University

ABOUT Alicia has 20 years of experience in early childhood education, 14 years as a preschool teacher and six years as the preschool supervisor at the Family Life Child Care Center. She believes early childhood education is the foundation for every child and she enjoys watching children develop and grow both academically and socially/emotionally.

Tyesha Bueno

Afterschool Site Coordinator
EDUCATION: Associate of Science in General Studies from Cuyahoga Community College and Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Physiology from Baldwin Wallace University, currently attending Ashland University.
 
ABOUT: I have been working in Early Childhood Education since 2015. I have experience working with children from newborn to 17 years old. I enjoy learning as much from the children as they learn from me.

Carmen Scruggs

Business Coordinator

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Leadership from Rasmussen University. Graduate student at Grand Canyon University studying Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education.

ABOUT: Carmen has been a member of the Horizon team for over 18 years, mostly working with preschool children. She has two children -- both Horizon products! -- aged 20 and 14.

Megan Armbruster

Lead Preschool Teacher

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University

ABOUT: Ms. Megan is the lead teacher in the Green and Blue Preschool rooms. She has worked at Horizon since August 2016. Megan loves reading and being outdoors, and she loves seeing children explore and learn through their curiosity.
