Market Square Center

Our Market Square Center, nestled in Ohio City near the Westside Market and an RTA station on West 25th Street, earning the highest quality Gold Rating from the State of Ohio's "Step Up to Quality Program," highlighting its commitment to quality early childhood education. It offers year-round programming for students 18 months to 14 years of age and a safe supportive environment for children. It also offers transportation for school-age children to and from local schools.

Our Market Square Child Care Center hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Program Highlights

Our Market Square Center offers a UPK/ECE supported preschool program as well as a 21st CCLC before and after school program.

Students can participate in garden, STEM, art, fitness and cooking clubs. The produce used in the cooking lessons comes from on-site gardens. It is also given to families! In the spring and summer months, a drive-up food pantry is available.

Additional perks include monthly themed family events, tutoring opportunities, visits from the library, and a free closet with clothes, food and household items for children and adults.

Nicole Goe

Center Director

EDUCATION: B.A. in Education from The University of Toledo

ABOUT: Nicole joined Horizon in August 2018 as Site Coordinator. During her tenure, she has worked hard to develop many community partnerships, as well as provide first-time experiences for students through both field trips and in-house activities. As director, Nicole will strive to bring that same energy to keep the Market Square site at the forefront of quality early childcare education.

Breann Smith

EDUCATION: Child Development Associates

ABOUT: Ms. Bre has worked with Horizon since 2017 in multiple positions; from school age staff to Preschool lead TA then to Business Coordinator and now Site Coordinator. She received her preschool CDA in 2019. She has always known that she would work with children in one way or another. She takes pride in her career and helping families as much as she can. Bre has 3 dogs at home who love the park and fetch. Outside of work she is either reading a Kristen Ashley book, listening to music, or watching Marvel/DC movies and shows.

Lauryn Young

Business Coordinator

EDUCATION Associates Degree, Early Childhood Education, Eastern Gateway Community College. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies.

ABOUT Lauryn has been an educator for over 12 years and has worked with children of all ages and abilities. She believes that every child is capable of learning, and enjoys building the foundation for children's educational paths and being a part of such a special journey. When she is not working, Lauryn enjoys watching movies, listening to music and traveling with family and friends.

Brittany Laurenti

EDUCATION Bachelor of Science degree in multidisciplinary studies

ABOUT Ms. Brittany has been with Horizon Education Centers since February 2019. Her favorite thing about her job is hearing her name from the kids and seeing their smiling faces when they learn something new.

Lead Toddler Teacher

EDUCATION Associates Degree in Education

ABOUT Lauryn has been teaching for 12 years and previously lived in Puerto Rico. She is creative and enjoys doing art projects with the children and decorating for the seasons and holidays.
