After-School Care 

The afterschool program at Harrison Elementary School in Lakewood provides many benefits for parents and children. 

The staff at Harrison also provides homework help as well as other enrichment activities.

Staff members design activities for your children based on a blended curriculum aligned with state standards, while combining customized learning plans and assessments for better growth and development. 

And It’s just off of I-90, allowing for easy access to downtown Cleveland, or surrounding suburbs.

Horizon Education Centers’ has been offering high-quality educational experiences for more than 40 years.

Our teachers develop language and literacy, as well as social, emotional, and physical skills. We guide our students with various teaching methods based on recommendations from the State of Ohio.

 Hours:

Before-School Care - Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

After-School Care - Monday through Friday 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Becky Volle

Center Director, Harrison

EDUCATION Bachelor of Science Degree in Family & Consumer Sciences/Early Childhood Developmental Psychology from Baldwin-Wallace University 

ABOUT Becky has been working with children and families as a Center Director for over 20 years. Becky's mission is to create a trusting environment where children can thrive, feeling successful and empowered. 

Allie Klein

Site Coordinator, Harrison

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in communication management from Cleveland State University

ABOUT Allie has worked with children for over five years. Her mission is to create an environment where children can thrive to reach their full potential. She believes Horizon is a place where children can feel successful, safe and empowered.

Arielle Verbofsky Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in middle childhood education from Baldwin-Wallace University

ABOUT Ms. Arielle knew she wanted to be a teacher at a young age after being inspired by one of her teachers, and she has followed that dream. She enjoys watching and hearing the children grow and learn each and every day.

Matt Brown Lead Teacher

EDUCATION Associate of Arts from Cuyahoga Community College

ABOUT Mr. Matt has an associate of arts from Cuyahoga Community College. He has 6 years of experience in childcare. He was a tutor in English and Math for 2 years. Throughout his career, he has worked with every age group. For 2 years, he was in charge of running a community garden, within the early childhood programs he was working for.
