Horizon Program at Emerson Elementary

Located just steps from Clifton Boulevard in Lakewood, near downtown Cleveland, our after-school program at Emerson Elementary School offers comprehensive care. The Emerson staff provides homework assistance and enrichment activities, including hands-on experiments, social skills development, and STEM activities, ensuring a well-rounded experience for students.

Our Emerson Elementary center hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Claire Lambert

Site Coordinator

EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Independent Studies from the University of Charleston

ABOUT Claire has worked with children since seventh grade when she was a tutor, babysitter and lifeguard. She was a preschool teacher at Primrose School of Avon and at Hyland Software Child Enrichment Center. Claire is excited to bring passion, support and guidance to the teachers at Horizon. She believes mentoring young children is pivotal to developing our future generation.

Kelly Arnold

Site Coordinator
EDUCATION B.A in Parks, Recreation, Tourism, and Administration at Western Illinois University. 
 
ABOUT Ms. Arnold is excited to join the Horizon team. She is originally from Illinois and is a US Navy veteran. She loves spending time in nature and with her three rescue dogs. 

Richelle Anderson

Afterschool Staff
EDUCATION Graduated from Lakeland Community College, Child Psychology and Early Childhood Education
 
ABOUT Ms. Richelle graduated from Lakeland Community College after studying child psychology and early childhood education. Prior to working with Horizon, Richelle was a paraprofessional, a nanny, and a caretaker at a home for children with disabilities. During her time in these fields, she enjoyed diving into learning all about child development and social-emotional learning. She is especially looking forward to incorporating art and English into her lessons with the children, as well as getting to know the students and their caregivers. Richelle believes that all children have something beautiful to teach us, just as they learn from us. 

Ina Shyti

Lead Teacher
EDUCATION Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in English 
 
ABOUT Ms. Shyti is from Albania. Before joining Horizon Education Center, Ina taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to middle school students in Albania, an experience that fueled Ina's love for teaching and helping young learners succeed. Since childhood, Ina dreamed of becoming an English teacher, inspired by her favorite English teacher who ignited Ina's love for the language.

Now as a Lead Teacher, Ina brings warmth, patience, and enthusiasm to Horizon’s before and after care programs, creating a welcoming environment for children to explore, grow, and feel supported. Outside of work, Ina enjoys cooking for her family and sharing meals that celebrate both Albanian traditions and new flavors.
