Horizon Education Centers thrilled to announce Teria Bivins, M.B.A., has been promoted to Chief Academics Officer. Bivins’ dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence are truly inspiring, and this promotion is testimony to both her hard work and exceptional leadership.
About Teria Bivins
After completing her BA in Business Administration, Teria joined Horizon Education Centers and has been employed with Horizon for 15 years, starting as a temporary School Age Coordinator. Shortly thereafter, she joined the organization full-time, taking on roles such as Lead Preschool Teacher, Program Specialist, Education Service Coordinator, Center Director, and, until her recent elevation to CAO, served as Division Executive.
Bivins completed her MBA from the University of Cincinnati in 2021 and has taken and succeeded in numerous professional development courses in the field of education along with ongoing academic work.
She has put this academic and professional development work to good use, developing leadership KSAs, providing a strong business mindset, and bringing a distinct, impactful perspective to Horizon’s leadership. Her deep passion for Horizon’s children and families reinforces her desire to see every Horizon team member serve our communities more fully and faithfully.
Teria Bivins currently resides in Lorain with her beautiful daughter. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, friends, and traveling. Bivins is an active member of the community, especially with her church. She expects to continue to grow and develop her passion for students and their academic success, as well as to seek out opportunities to mentor future leaders in the area.
In her new role as Chief Academics Officer, Bivins will oversee Horizon's centers and programs, ensuring that every teacher continues to provide top-notch academic services and support, setting our children up for long-term, sustainable success.
