Horizon Kids Get Healthier with Snacks from the Mediterranean Diet

The Mediterranean diet has been called the healthiest way of eating and is endorsed by leading health experts, including the Cleveland Clinic. It includes whole grains and fresh fruits. Studies have found that children who eat better do better academically.

New Healthier Snack Examples:

  • Monterey Jack Cheese and whole grain Triscuit crackers
  • Fresh melon wedges and Mozzarella cheese sticks
  • Whole grain cheese popcorn and milk
  • Mini Carrots (&/or broccoli florets) with hummus dip (or low-fat ranch dressing) and Chocolate milk.
