Ohio Should Beef Up Early Child Care Programs

12712001 smallEarlier this month, the Plain Dealers Bill Larkin Posted an article about how and why Ohio school beef up the Funding for early-childhood education. Of the 40 states that fund preschool, Rutgers University's National Institute for Early Education Research found that only Texas fared worse on quality measurements than Ohio.

"But of Ohio's 138,000 3- and 4-year-olds who live in poverty, only about 66,000 receive some preschool -- much of it low-quality.

State Sen. Peggy Lehner is one legislator who gets it."
