Elyria has plenty of restaurants where families can stop by for a delicious meal with their kids and enjoy conversations with them. Here, we’ll highlight four of your many options— what we consider the best restaurants in Elyria, Ohio for families.

Blue Sky Restaurant

Located at 802 Cleveland Street, this family-friendly eatery serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Blue Sky offers a broad menu, too, that includes appetizers, soups, salads, and choices of dinners that feature beef, seafood, chicken, pasta, and more. There are burgers, wraps, diet-friendly meals, side orders, and desserts. Plus, there’s a robust children’s menu where entrees range from grilled cheese sandwiches to spaghetti to burgers, hot dogs, and more. They come with fries or mashed potatoes and, sometimes, also with soup or salad.

Each day also features specials, ensuring that there’s always something different to try. So, whether your children are adventurous eaters or prefer the comfort of favorite foods, you’ll likely find them at Blue Sky.

George’s Family Restaurant

Although this old-fashioned-style restaurant doesn’t have a website, they do have a Facebook page and large menu to choose from. Offerings range from hamburgers to meatloaf, chicken fingers to spaghetti and meatballs, steak to seafood, and much more.

Located at 2170 North Ridge Road, this family-friendly restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Plenty of parking exists, and options include eating in or enjoying take-out meals.

Dog-n-Suds

For nearly seventy years, fans of the classic Dog-n-Suds have pulled in to park at one of several slots to place an order. Food can be enjoyed in the car, at one of the outdoor seating spots, or as a take-out order.

Known for their Coney dogs and root beer, this location is open seasonally at 2050 North Ridge Road. Other choices range from burgers to BBQ, and from grilled cheese to chicken, mac and cheese to spaghetti, sloppy joes, BLTs, and much more.

As a bit of fun history, this Dog-n-Suds is one of about twenty in the country. The first one was opened in Illinois in 1953 by two music teachers. This hot dog stand concept really caught on and, in the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, you could find this brand across the country.

Midway Oh Boy

Finally, don’t forget about Midway Oh Boy when looking to eat at one of the best restaurants in Elyria, Ohio. Located at 6620 Lake Road, you can dine in or take out food from this large menu. Selections range from a variety of Oh Boy branded sandwiches to burgers, wraps, hot dogs, veal cutlets, fish, and much more. Midway Oh Boy also has a range of side orders to choose from, including cheddar cheese puffs, poppers, pierogis, salads, and fries—plus desserts, floats, and daily specials.

In business since 1953, this eatery has a welcoming, old-time vibe.
