As cooler temperatures arrive, that doesn’t mean playground season has to end. There are numerous indoor playgrounds in Cleveland and the surrounding areas that families can visit.
Benefits of playing indoors can be significant, too, including:
- Reduced Risk: When indoor playgrounds are designed to be kid friendly and safe (as the three we'll list here are), there's a lower risk of injury. Strategically placed padding, hand holds, and railings are just some of these features.
- Enhanced Creative Play: Opportunities abound! Children can create stories as they play—perhaps based on the theme of the playground or simply because these spaces can trigger the imagination.
Now here are three of the amazing indoor playgrounds in Cleveland that you can enjoy with your children.
Cleveland Children’s Museum in Cleveland
Located in the heart of the city, the Children’s Museum of Cleveland contains eight exhibits and provides unlimited opportunities for fun exploration. In Adventure City, for example, children can climb a two-story structure and explore a city with a farmer’s market, doctor’s office, auto shop, and more. This is an ideal spot for pretend play that helps children to develop critical thinking skills and collaborative abilities. In the theater, children can use props, lighting, and costumes to create their own stage productions. In Making Miniatures, children can hunt out hidden logos and more in fascinating dollhouses and build their own.
Get Air Trampoline Park in Middleburg Heights
Imagine yourself as a curious child—and then put yourself in an environment filled with literally thousands of feet of trampolines where you could jump, flip, and bounce! Incredible, right? At Get Air Trampoline Park, there’s also a kiddie court for children under forty-six inches, an opportunity to play trampoline dodgeball, and a place where your children can trampoline-jump themselves into a giant pit of foam.
Got toddlers? Each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., only children under forty-six inches are allowed in with one parent jumping for free at a nearby trampoline—perfect for toddler playdates.
Play: CLE in Avon
Play: CLE is a 25,000-square-foot adventure park with activities for people aged six and up with a zip line, rock climbing walls, and parkour and ninja courses. Augmented reality climbing creates a brand-new way to enjoy fun and fitness with this indoor playground in Cleveland offering twelve special games using this technology. Rope courses offer a series of challenges across the obstacles in self-guided ways while even non-climbers can enjoy “loopy fun walls” in the climbing wall section of the indoor park. Children should be at least forty-six inches to use the rope climbing wall with weight ranges required starting at thirty and forty-five pounds.
