Family and children of the Berea Horizon Education Centers held a teacher appreciation parade for teachers and support staff on Tuesday amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to longtime parent Lauren Friedburg, “We miss you and can’t wait to come back. Thank you for having the parade, my child was excited to see their teachers.”

Lead preschool teacher Ana-Lee Sandru said, “It was nice to see the children. This parade was a great idea.”

About 35 cars participated, saluting more than 40 teachers wrapping the outside of the building and practicing social distancing. The cars, adorned with posters and decorations, made their way through the center’s parking lot on West Bagley Road.

The Horizon Education Centers, a nonprofit child care organization founded in 1978, recently acquired the former Family Life Center on April 1. This Center joins 11 other care and education centers operated by Horizon.
